The Magic of Patterned Flooring
Choosing a pattern wasn’t a random decision. “As a designer, I know the floor is often the largest surface in a home. A pattern creates dynamism and life in a room. In my ten-meter hallway, the wrong pattern could have made it feel endlessly long—but this pattern works perfectly in every direction,” Sofie explains.
The pattern becomes a leading character in the home, interacting with the architectural details in a way that makes each room feel more vibrant and harmonious.
About Sofie and Her Home
Sofie is 43, an interior designer, and an exclusive stylist for Eklund Sthlm Ny. When she’s not working, she loves playing tennis, traveling, and exploring the world with her daughters. Her home in central Gothenburg reflects her personality: a combination of modern and classic, with natural materials, earthy tones, and a deliberate balance between maximalism and warmth.
“I want my home to feel like a sanctuary. It’s clean-lined yet personal, inviting and harmonious. Not every detail has to be meticulously planned—the important thing is that you can live and socialize here without compromising on design.”
The Floor That Creates the Whole
For Sofie, the floor is more than just a surface—it’s the heart of the home. Kährs’ patterned flooring provides both function and character, tying the modern and the classic together in a way that feels natural and alive. “That’s what makes my home complete. It feels stylish, vibrant, and exactly the way I want it,” Sofie concludes.
