Construction of engineered wood floors

The construction of your floor matters—both for how it looks today and how it lives on tomorrow. Kährs engineered wood floors come in three smart constructions: 3-layer, 2-layer, and veneer.

Each option is designed for different needs. Want the ability to re-sand your floor years down the line? Choose a construction with a thicker top layer. Planning a floating or fully bonded installation? We’ve got the perfect fit for both.

Kährs pioneered the multi-layer wood floor—not just for added stability, but to make better use of every piece of wood. It’s a choice that supports beauty, longevity, and the planet.

3-layer flooring

Our 3-layer floors are crafted for lasting beauty and everyday strength. Built with a surface layer, a pine/spruce core, and a stabilizing backing, they offer exceptional durability with a total thickness of 13-18 mm.

You can re-sand the surface multiple times, giving your floor a fresh look over the years. And whether you prefer a floating installation or a glued-down finish, these floors adapt effortlessly to solid surfaces like concrete, particleboard, or wood. It’s timeless design—engineered to grow with you.

2-layer flooring

Our 2-layer floors are made up of a high-quality surface layer and a sturdy pine/spruce backing. They ares are 9–11 mm thick and can be re-sanded multiple times—perfect for a long life of style and comfort.

Designed for glued-down installation, they provide a stable, quiet feel underfoot and are ideal for spaces where high performance matter. Elegant, efficient, and made to last.

Veneer flooring

Our veneer floors are the perfect blend of style and simplicity. With a three-layer construction—featuring a high-quality wood surface, durable HDF core, and stable backing—they offer the look of real wood in either a slim 7 mm or 10 mm profile.

While they can’t be re-sanded, they’re a smart choice for quick updates and modern living. Easy to install floating on a solid surface or glued down if preferred, veneer floors bring natural beauty to your home—effortlessly.
